Our Programs

Two programs.
One mission.

We run two distinct programs — one for adults experiencing homelessness, one for young people at risk. Both build mental wellbeing and resilience through movement, education and community. Both are independently measured. Both change lives.

Adult Empowerment Programs
Women's & Men's Empowerment — 8 weeks

Our 8-week programs integrate physical training, mental health support, life skills workshops and employment preparation. Participants are referred by shelters and homelessness support organisations. We provide the program — you provide the participants.

How the Adult Empowerment Programs work

1
Referral from a partner organisation
Shelters and homelessness support organisations refer participants. We interview and onboard. No cost to the participant, ever.
2
Assessment & a commitment
Participants commit to a simple contract: positive attitude, respect for others. We assess them using clinical tools (DASS-21, UCLA, PWI-5) so we can measure what changes.
3
Exercise, education and community
Weekly sessions combine physical training with workshops — goal setting, mental health, job readiness, nutrition, financial literacy and more.
4
A goal race — and re-assessment
Every participant nominates a goal distance: 5km, 10km, half or full marathon. On race day, they run alongside volunteers. Then we measure again.
5
Employment pathways & ongoing community
Graduates connect with employment partners and mentors, and remain part of the OMF community for as long as they choose.
Youth RISE Program
Youth Program for Schools — 10 weeks

RISE is a prevention-first mental wellbeing and resilience program for Year 9 young men (14–15), delivered in government schools. Grounded in four pillars — Run, Inspire, Support, Evolve — it builds belonging, resilience, identity and life skills before disadvantage takes hold. Change is measured pre- and post-program using the validated SDQ and WEMWBS wellbeing scales. Piloting at Balga Senior High School, Term 3 2026.

How the Youth RISE Program works

1
School partnership confirmed
A government school confirms a Year 9 cohort of young men. On My Feet works with the school to arrange sessions around the timetable.
2
Wellbeing assessment
Participants complete the SDQ and WEMWBS at program start, establishing a baseline for measuring change across the 10 weeks.
3
10 weeks — run, workshop, parkrun
Each week: physical training Tuesday & Thursday evenings, a structured workshop at school on Wednesday, and a Saturday parkrun. Every week explores a Best Self Behaviour.
4
10km graduation run
The cohort completes a 10km run together — a distance none of them could do at Week 1. Followed by a Commitment Ceremony in which each young man states publicly what they commit to going forward.
5
Outcome report & ongoing connection
The school receives a full wellbeing outcome report — SDQ and WEMWBS pre/post — suitable for school annual reports. Graduates are invited to continue with On My Feet's community running sessions.
