Why partner

The people you’ll help.

Refer participants from your shelter or school and watch them find structure, community and a finish line.

Partner With Us
Two pathways to
working together.

We work with two distinct partner types. In both cases we bring the program, the volunteers, the expertise and the evidence. You bring the participants and the relationship.

Adult Empowerment Programs

Shelters & homelessness support organisations

We partner with shelters, refuge organisations, recovery centres and community housing providers. Our programs run as separate women's and men's cohorts, providing a safe, focused environment where participants can be open and honest about their experiences.

No cost to your organisation
On My Feet funds and delivers the program. Your role is to identify suitable clients, support their participation, and provide a safe referral pathway.
Clinically measured outcomes you can report
Pre- and post-program DASS-21, UCLA and PWI-5 data is collected for every participant. We share results with you so you can report genuine outcomes to your funders.
Experienced in complex trauma
We have been running programs since 2014 with participants experiencing DV, addiction, mental illness and long-term homelessness. We understand the complexity and design for it.
Separate Women's and Men's programs
We offer both a Women's Only and a Men's Only program, with tailored curriculum and a safe, supportive environment for each cohort.

Youth RISE Program

Government schools with Year 9 cohorts

RISE is a prevention-first 10-week mental wellbeing and resilience program for Year 9 young men, with change measured pre- and post-program using the validated SDQ and WEMWBS wellbeing scales. We are seeking government school partners in WA to pilot and roll out the program. Balga Senior High School has confirmed Term 3 2026 — we are now looking for the next cohort.

R
Run — Physical challenge
Running, boxing and circuits build discipline, resilience and self-efficacy. Participants train toward a 10km graduation run.
I
Inspire — Peer leadership
Participants develop as role models within their cohort, building social responsibility and identity as someone others look up to.
S
Support — Brotherhood
Mutual accountability and connection protect against isolation. Participants learn to lean on others and be leaned on.
E
Evolve — Identity & values
Each week unpacks a Best Self Behaviour. Participants explore who they are and who they choose to become through a structured values framework.

In Their Own Words
What caseworkers say
about their clients.

On My Feet works closely with shelters, refuges and homelessness support organisations across Perth. These are the words of the caseworkers and coordinators who see the change in their clients firsthand.

Beacon — The Salvation Army

"This walking group has proved to be a very positive motivator for the clients that attend. It's been great for their mental health and it's also inspired them to achieve other tasks. One client commented about the exercise being a 'natural drug' to them — helping them to feel alive and enjoy being clean. At the last walk, one client was able to complete a load of things in that one day because she felt energised and proactive."

"On My Feet is a remarkable project — your programs are vital in supporting homeless and marginalised people in our community. The OMF team are proof that our guiding principles of respect, empowerment, compassion, inclusivity and non-judgement can change lives. You do it all year round!"

St Bartholomew's House

"On My Feet has encouraged some of our guys up, out the building and into the fresh air to get some exercise. Not only that, but they have received runners, t-shirts and made friends along the way. Social interaction and inclusion is a struggle for many staying with us here at St Barts and On My Feet has really helped participants feel involved in the local community."

St Patrick's Community Centre
A founding partnership — since 2014

On My Feet has worked closely with St Patrick's Community Centre since the very first exercise chapter in Fremantle in 2014. Over more than a decade, this partnership has expanded to include walking groups, running sessions and community initiatives — including gifting St Pat's clients with On My Feet gift boxes containing OMF uniforms to encourage improved physical and mental wellbeing. St Patrick's remains one of On My Feet's most valued and enduring community partners.

Common Questions
Before you refer,
here are the questions
we hear most often.
Do participants need any running experience?

No. Many of our participants have never run in their lives. We start where each person is and build together. The goal is not athletic performance — it is self-belief, community and structure.

Can participants with complex mental health needs attend?

Yes, with appropriate support in place. We have eleven years of experience working with participants experiencing trauma, addiction, depression, anxiety and PTSD. We ask that participants are not currently in acute crisis requiring intensive clinical intervention.

What happens if a participant misses sessions or drops out?

We understand that participants face complex challenges. We maintain contact, encourage return, and never penalise. If a participant leaves the program, they are always welcome to come back — and many do. We measure outcomes on completions.

Is there a cost to our organisation or to the participant?

No. The program is delivered free of charge to both the referring organisation and the participant. We provide running shoes, an OMF uniform and all program materials. On My Feet funds the program through philanthropic support and fundraising.

How do you measure and report outcomes?

We use the DASS-21 (depression, anxiety and stress), the UCLA Loneliness Scale and the PWI-5 (personal wellbeing) at program start and end, alongside physiological assessments. You receive a full outcome report at program completion — suitable for sharing with your own funders and board.

How long is the waiting list?

Program intake is cohort-based — we accept participants at the start of each 8-week cycle. Contact us to find out when the next cohort begins and how many places are available. We encourage early referrals as cohorts fill quickly.

What happens after the program ends?

Graduates are invited to continue with On My Feet's community running sessions — and many do for years. Some become mentors and ambassadors themselves. The community does not end at Week 8. Employment pathway connections and mentor introductions continue after graduation.
